Commissions

I have a variety of commission options available. Please see below for pricing.

While I endeavour to be flexible with my work, I am strictly a portrait artist. My preference is to do artworks of characters and people from the hips up.

If you have a project in mind, please feel free to contact me, and we can discuss options.

Please note that my turnaround on projects varies. This is not my full time job, but it is rather something I do in my evenings. So, it may take me a minimum of 3-5 days to complete a project once the final design is selected. Something like the examples shown could take upwards of 5 days of working solely on that project.

Types of Portraits

Bust

A bust artwork is exactly as you might imagine—from the bust up.

Bust pieces are the quickest turnaround. Below are examples of busts.

Waist

Waist is a little bit lower on the torso and allows for more focus to be on clothing and body type. If your piece requires detail for these, I recommend proceeding with a waist portrait.

Torso

Torso portraits are typically from the hip upwards. Some portrait designs may include a little of the legs, but not much.

Pricing

Line art

Line art consists of a plain background, typically white or off-white, with clean lifework.

Greyscale

Greyscale is a painted piece without colour. There is an option for flat greyscale, which is less detailed.

Full Colour

Full colour is a fully painted piece. Typically this requires both lineart & greyscale stages

Please note that prices listed are in AUD and are exclusive of any distribution/ownership/copyright fees. Traditionally, if your piece is to be used commercially (i.e. sold as prints, or merchandise, etc.), an additional 50% fee would be incurred; however, this will be waived for the foreseeable future.

Additional Items

While I take a lot of pride and care in my work, I am not an expert. There are some things I am not good at painting and some things that will require additional practice and time to complete.

Backgrounds

All paintings will come with either a flat background or a basic pattern render. Examples shown on this page fall within this category. If you would like something more complex, this will incur an additional fee, which is dependent on the project but would be no more than $50 (since backgrounds are not the focus of the piece).

Book Covers

Due to the complexity and size of book covers, these will have a base rate of $500 for front cover and $750 for full spread and may change depending on the level of complexity and number of characters. Please contact me to discuss covers.

Characters

Additional characters per portrait will be charged the same rate as an individual. For example, a two character, greyscale bust will be $200.

Other Complex Items

Should you wish to include a detailed item, such as a weapon or intricate clothing detail, this may incur additional fees. These will be dependent on the item and level of detail.

Commission Process

  1. Send me an email or inquiry, including details of the character and any references you may have (these can be for vibes, similar faces, clothing ideas, etc.). The more detail you provide, the better estimate I can give you for the price, timeline, and my availability to complete the work. I will also need to know if this will be distributed solely electronically, or if print versions will be made; this will determine whether the file is set up as RGB or CMYK.
  2. An invoice will be sent to you for a 50% of the total fee. This will be done via PayPal.
  3. Upon rendering payment of the invoice, I will start and return to you a sketch of the portrait design within the next few days, dependent of my schedule. This stage is when we can make tweaks. If the piece is to be rendered, there will be very limited and minor design modifications available once I move on from line art (such as colouring and lighting). You will be provided with updates as it progresses. I love sending WIPs.
  4. Once the piece is complete, the remaining 50% of the fee will be payable. Upon receiving payment, I will provide you with high resolution PNGs of the artworks via a link. If the piece is commercial, there will also be an option to receive the full Photoshop file for your own modifications.

If these prices or options are not suitable for a project you have in mind, please still feel free to reach out. I am happy to discuss alternatives to find a happy middle. My style is flexible, and I’d hope to be able to be able to work on your loved characters.

I cannot guarantee that every project will be a right fit for me, but please do not let that stop you from contacting me.
